The Slovenian Primoz Roglic won the Burgos cycling tour in preparation for the Vuelta a Espana. The Giro winner from the Jumbo team was in good shape a week before the Spanish tour with two stage wins and won after five stages comfortably ahead of Alexander Wlasow (RUS/Bora) and Adam Yates (GBR/UAE).
Upper Austria’s Rainer Kepplinger (Bahrain) finished 19th overall after eleventh place on the final day. Kepplinger and his teammate Hermann Pernsteiner are also expected to contest the Vuelta.
