He interviewed a number of champions, especially cyclists, for the first channel. It was also he who had collected the first reactions of tennis player Yannick Noah after his victory at Roland Garros in 1983, the last Grand Slam tournament won by a Frenchman.

In the magazine The Team in 2010, he returned to his mad dash on the central court of Roland-Garros with Yannick Noah, microphone of TF1 in hand, after the Frenchman’s victory against Mats Wilander: “I wanted to get his impressions just after the match point, but his father came down to the court and they threw themselves into each other’s arms. So I had to wait for the end of their embrace to question Yannick, in the middle of the crowd. It was not easy, especially since he was very wary of journalists.

Father of singer Valérie Leulliot

In addition to sports journalism, Jean-Michel Leulliot had presented television news on TF1 (the presentation of the 11 p.m. newspaper) then was editor-in-chief of the morning and weekend newspapers in the 80s/90s.
