Remembering Thomas Muster and Alexander Antonitsch: A Journey Through Austrian Tennis History

“We often played doubles together. Also at the 1988 Olympic Games in Seoul. In 1990, the small tennis country of Austria was even in the semi-finals of the Davis Cup, and Skoff played sensationally. It was a formative time, tennis became really modern for young people back then,” says Antonitsch, who was a bank in doubles. The Davis Cup battles against New Zealand, America or Germany are legendary. “Günther Bresnik asked me at the time to just let Skoff play freely and to take the blame for mistakes on me. It worked brilliantly.”
