Registration Period Extended for 2023 Intercollegiate Games: New Dates for Each Discipline Announced

The new dates will depend on each discipline.

The Ministry of Sports reported that it is extending the registration period for the 2023 Intercollegiate Games, for educational institutions and organizations of people with disabilities (legally constituted) that still want to be part of the largest school competition program in the Country.

Thus, in group sports, in the pre-infantile, infantile, pre-juvenile and youth categories, the registration limit will be until August 10, while in individual disciplines; children (with national scope), pre-juvenile and youth, will be until August 20.

For its part, regarding school festivals, group and individual mini sports, pre-infantile and infantile categories, it will be allowed until August 28.

Those interested should enter the website of the Ministry of Sports, www.mindeporte.gov.co, look for the Intercollegiate Games banner (image) and follow the registration steps.

The Ministry stressed that, on this occasion, the Games contemplate 36 sports disciplines, among which 19 individual, 13 group, three for children and young people with disabilities, and a festival stand out.

Do not forget that the rules, the regulations of each sport, and the schedule can be consulted on the same web page.

It should be noted that the individual competitions will be made up of underwater activities, chess, athletics, badminton, boxing, cycling, fencing, gymnastics, judo, karate, weight lifting, wrestling, swimming, skating, taekwondo, shuffleboard, field tennis, tennis table, and triathlon.

In turn, the authorized Paralympic system sports are boccia, for swimming, for athletics and auditory athletics.

While the team disciplines will be basketball, handball, baseball, soccer, indoor soccer, futsal, mini basketball, mini futsal, mini volleyball, cheerleading, rugby, softball and volleyball.

It should not be forgotten that the 2023 National Intercollegiate Games will take place in five phases: Municipal, departmental, regional, national final and international phase.
