PSV has made an offer for Hirving Lozano, transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio reported on Saturday afternoon. The people of Eindhoven want to capture the Mexican, who previously played for the club between 2017 and 2019, for several years. PSV’s offer is ten million euros plus five million in bonuses. According to Di Marzio, the negotiations between PSV and Napoli are ‘advanced’, although Napoli still wants to receive a little more than the offer that is now on the table.

Lozano previously played 79 matches for PSV, in which he scored no less than 40 goals. After an extremely successful period at the Philips Stadium, Lozano moved to Napoli, where he is not assured of a starting place. With Lozano there, PSV may be preparing for a departure from Johan Bakayoko, who is in the interest of several clubs. Burnley, Liverpool and Napoli, for example, have serious interest in the Belgian right winger.

Lozano is still under contract with Napoli until mid-2024, for which he has played 155 times to date. He was good for thirty hits and seventeen assists. Last season, the Central American was part of Napoli’s selection that unthreatened to grab the national title in Serie A. At Napoli, Lozano lost his starting place at the end of last season, although he was never quite sure of a place anyway due to competition from Matteo Politano in the first eleven. During the opening game of the new season, away at Frosinone (1-3), he did not leave the bench. Politano was then substituted, but Eljif Elmas came on for the Italian.

Chucky joined PSV in the summer of 2017, which paid about 12.5 million euros to CF Pachuca. Lozano was an important player in the Eindhoven team that became champion of the Netherlands in the 2017/18 season under Phillip Cocu. Two years after his arrival, PSV sold him to Napoli for a record amount of 45 million euros, with which he also won the Coppa Italia in 2020 in addition to the national title. In January of this year, that record was broken by Cody Gakpo, who switched to Liverpool. The Reds paid 42 million euros, which can increase to a maximum of 50 million through bonuses.
