PSG: Mendes and Mukiele soon back, Neymar more than ever uncertain for Lorient

A week to forget for Neymar, in his struggling story with Paris Saint-Germain. Affected by a virus at the start of the week and away from the training grounds for more than three days, the Brazilian, whose future in the capital club has been seriously questioned in recent days, is again indisposed this Friday and will continue to work individually indoors, announces the club. In fact, it seems uncertain for the opening match of the Ligue 1 season for the Parisians against Lorient, this Saturday at the Parc des Princes (9 p.m.) if Luis Enrique was counting on him.

This is one more name in the list of injured, which does not include that of Marco Verratti, also absent from two training sessions this week, and who should soon be offloading those of Nuno Mendes and Nordi Mukiele. The two full-backs, who have been out for several weeks and missed the pre-season tour of Japan and Korea, are both recovering from hamstring injuries. The Frenchman is “recovered from his operation” and “alternates individual and collective training”, specifies the club, when the Portuguese “works individually on the ground and will resume with the group within 15 days”.

Kimpembe has “resumed running”

Alexandre Letellier, victim of a sprained knee on the eve of the team’s departure for Japan, and Juan Bernat, who was recovering from an injury during the pre-season and has played very little in Asia, are also noted absent this Friday. The third Parisian goalkeeper “continues his care”, with a “return to the group is planned in 15 days”. The Spaniard, also in the process of leaving, “does reinforcement work in the room today”.

Good news, finally, for Presnel Kimpembe. Operated on the Achilles tendon following his injury contracted in February, the Parisian central defender “resumed running”. He seems on time for his return to training, then to competition, scheduled for the fall.
