Panama is expected to excel in the various categories
The students from Panama managed to obtain gold medals in basketball and table tennis, in the VIII Central American Student Sports Games organized by the Council of the Central American Isthmus of Sports and Recreation (Codicader).
Disciplines in which she finished undefeated against her competitors from Nicaragua, Honduras and Belize. In men’s basketball, the students of Colegio Abel Bravo obtained the gold medal. Meanwhile, in women’s basketball, the Justo Arosemena Institute won the gold medal.
While, in men’s table tennis, students from the educational regions of Panama and Chiriquí won gold. In the female branch, Bocas del Toro, Panama and Chiriquí also obtained the gold medal.
Intermediate level (13-14 year olds) Codicader tournaments are held in Belize, Panama, Honduras, Costa Rica and Nicaragua.
The competitions take place as follows: Belize organizes the basketball and table tennis tournaments, from August 1 to 7; Panama, men’s baseball and women’s softball, from August 21 to 27.
While, Honduras, soccer and swimming, from October 8 to 14; Nicaragua, combat sports (judo, karate, wrestling and taekwondo), from September 14 to 17; and Costa Rica, athletics (conventional and disability), from September 21 to 27.
According to the Ministry of Education, it is expected that Panama, with the effort and determination of its schoolchildren, will be able to excel in the different categories and succeed to bring more gold medals in these student championships.
