Red is a color that football fans in Belgium mainly associate with competitors such as Antwerp and Standard. After Ronny Deila and Philip Zinckernagel made the switch to Club, the Liège club felt called upon – albeit with a quirk – to post a reaction on Instagram. “Our coach, one of our trendsetters, our color… What’s next?” Standard writes with a laughing emoji. A comment that naturally provokes a reaction from many Club fans.
For Club Brugge, the red is of course not a reference to Standard or Antwerp, but it stands for passion. Red is also incorporated in the flag of the city of Bruges and a few seasons ago Club already played in a red away shirt. “We want to be the best and that is why we go through fire for each other.
