Islam Slimani has found a new club. The Algerian was linked to RSC Anderlecht until the last minute, but it turned out to be a Brazilian adventure in the end.
Islam Slimani will play football for Coritiba FC. The 35-year-old attacker has signed a contract with the Brazilian relegation client until the end of the season. For the sake of completeness: in Brazil, the competition is already halfway.
Slimani was linked to a return to RSC Anderlecht until the last minute. In fact, the Algerian also wanted to stay in Brussels, but no agreement was reached on the financial side of the matter.

In the meantime, Anderlecht attracted two reinforcements for the position of center forward with Kasper Dolberg and Luis Vazquez. Slimani therefore no longer seemed to have a place in Brian Riemer’s core. Although Anderlecht’s coach did not rule out a return until last weekend.
