Unfortunately, there is bad news for American football fans from the private broadcaster. “UHD transmissions of the NFL are not planned for the time being, since the US Networks do not broadcast the NFL in native UHD either,” said a broadcaster spokesman when asked by “Digital TV”.
But what is the reason for this? The portal explains that in the USA the live games are broadcast in UHD and upscalers are used. An upscaler is a system that converts video signals from one display resolution to another. Of course, these can then enhance the material produced in FullHD/HDR. However, there have been problems with image quality in the past, which is probably why RTL has decided against it. ProSiebenSat.1 also did not offer any UHD transmissions. Maybe for the same reason?
No UHD games
There is something very special on RTL this year. From August 28th, a radio stream will start from Berlin with daily news, detailed before and after reports on all game days, a special music concept for the sound of the NFL and interactive fan talks about the US sports league.
