Neymar’s sale Paris Saint Germain for the Al Hilal is pointed out by many as a great loss to the French team. But that is not the view of the press in the country. O The Parisian cites the transfer, closed, according to ESPN’s calculation, at 90 million euros (R$ 489.82 million)as a “gift from God” and a “gift from heaven”.

The publication cites that, although the Brazilian was the biggest purchase in the history of football, when the PSG disbursed 222 million euros to get him out of Barcelonahis departure also represents something historic, with the biggest sale of all time in the French club, surpassing the 40 million euros pocketed in the negotiation that took the Portuguese Gonçalo Guedes to the Valenciaem 2018.

And if the amount that enters the coffers is less than half of what was invested, the newspaper explains that no European club could invest that amount in a player who “remains as talented as ever, but whose physical and extra-sports problems have dropped considerably its rating in the market over the years”.

So much so that, in recent weeks, the CIES Football Observatory valued Neymar at 20 million euros (R$ 108.85 million), while the Transfer marketspecialized in calculating market values, estimated it at 60 million euros (R$ 326.55 million).

But paying more than that is not exactly a problem for wealthy Arab teams, as explained by an expert on the Saudi Arabian market heard by The Parisian: “It’s a gift from heaven for Paris. The Saudis are now willing to do anything to recruit the best players in the world and, for them, Neymar is still one of them. He is only 31 years old. It is absolutely no problem to spend so much money on him. They even see it as a big deal. It’s going to be crazy when he arrives.”

The publication also cites the relief in PSG’s payroll caused by Neymar’s transfer, as he receives around 40 million euros a year (R$ 217.70 million). “The departure of the Brazilian is a new stage in the project implemented a few months ago: to guarantee both sporting balance and economic balance.”
