Lewis Hall broke into the London “Chelsea” team last season and managed to play nine games in the Premier League. He had agreed on a new long-term contract, but the plans were thwarted by Newcastle United. The left-back will be paid €33m (£28m) after a one-year loan, with a further €8.2m (£7m) to come in bonuses.
“I’m very proud. My family and I are Newcastle fans. My brothers and I were taught from a young age that we were Newcastle. It’s a huge club and I’m looking forward to the first games,” said the 18-year-old footballer. He will be paid after a year’s rent to bring Newcastle under Financial Fair Play this summer.
The new season started with 5:1 against “Aston Villa” and 0:1 against “Manchester City”, but the next game is expected on Sunday at home against “Liverpool”. They have not played in the Champions League since 2003, when they managed to get out of the group, but in the second stage they had to settle for being behind “Barcelona” and “Inter Milan”.
The rapid rise of “Newcastle” was ensured by the fact that the club was bought by Saudi Arabia, immediately injecting impressive funds.
