New Opportunities for Austrian and German Tennis Associations on Day 2 of the US Open Qualification

After Jurij Rodionov and from a German point of view Mona Barthel suffered a defeat on the first day, there are many new opportunities for the supporters of the tennis associations from Austria and Germany on the second day. There is even a neighborhood duel between the Maximilians.

Dennis Novak has Lospech in round one with David Goffin.

Only Laura Siegemund was able to generate a positive headline on the first day at the start of the qualification in New York. Jule Niemeier, who is seeded fourth, starts the US Open qualification project against Despina Papamichail from Greece. Before that, another German player will play the second match on Court 13 after 5 p.m. CEST before Niemeier is allowed to play. After entering the final at Rothenbaum, Noma Noha Akugue will also have an eye on the entry of the Grand Slam main draw. A win against Irina Bara from Romania is announced.

Eva Lys also starts in the qualification. With Coco Vandeweghe, the 21-year-old German has probably drawn the best-known name as an opponent among the DTB players. For Austria’s only participant Sinja Kraus it’s against the French Alice Robbe.

Novak and Misolic start, Marterer against Neuchrist

Dennis Novak and Filip Misolic start in Flushing Meadows for the men. At 5 p.m. Dennis Novak has to deal with the heavy lot of David Goffin. Misolic is allowed to play against the Estonian Mark Lajal in the second match on court four. Maximilian Marterer and Maximilian Neuchrist also contest the second match, but on court nine. A neighborhood duel of namesakes. Certainly the set marterer is the favorite of this game, who despite his lower age has more experience in the big events. A tip on the name Maximilian is still safe.
