Moïse Duchemin left the region for professional reasons, joining Brioude and his native Auvergne, and leaving the reins of the Odos Judo Club at the same time as the presidency of the Hautes-Pyrénées Judo Departmental Committee. And at the same time closing a very long chapter in the life of the association.
A story of 19 years, when Moïse answered the call of the club, looking for a teacher. This one discovered a club counting about twenty licensees, proposing 2 weekly courses to the children. Today, the club has 90 members, a section for children, adults, leisure and lessons 4 days a week, courses during the holidays.
“Leaving the club is a bit difficult, concedes Moïse Duchemin, because Odos is my club. I met a lot of friends there, had great human adventures.”
His investment in all the young judokas he was able to train will have marked those who rubbed shoulders with this kingpin of Odossean judo. With far from enormous financial means, Moïse Duchemin has traveled for miles, in the region, in France, accompanying his protégés in all types of competitions: “kilometres for sometimes a fight of 20 seconds” specifies a bit amused the professor, proud to have carried to the highest of their possibilities, during his two decades, a good number of judokas.
