Lionel Messi in pursuit of a goalscoring record Cristiano Ronaldo at club level after scoring eight goals with Inter Miami.
Lionel Messi joined Inter Miami in the middle of this season. However, the captain of the Argentine national team immediately made an impact on the club nicknamed The Herons.
Inter Miami is currently through to the semifinals of the League Cup. Eight of the 17 goals scored by Inter Miami were scored by Lionel Messi.
With eight goals for Miami in the League Cup, Lionel Messi is now chasing Ronaldo’s goalscoring record at club level.
According to reports ESPN, CR7 currently has 719 goals with the club in his entire career. While Messi is one level behind by scoring 712 goals, or left behind by seven goals.
Messi’s rivalry with Ronaldo has now re-emerged even though the two players are no longer in the same league or tournament.
Like Messi, Ronaldo is also currently productive. Together with Al Nassr, Cristiano Ronaldo has scored four goals in five Arab Champions League matches. Al Nassr was brought by Ronaldo to the Arab Champions League final against Al Hilal.
Interestingly, both Messi and Ronaldo both became top scorers in the tournament. Ronaldo is the top scorer in the Arab Champions League with four goals, while Messi is the top scorer in the League Cup with eight goals.
