Memphis Depay helped Atlético Madrid to victory against Granada on Monday. Partly due to a devastating blow from the substitute, the Spanish top club won the first match of the La Liga season: 3-1.
Atlético had a lot of trouble with Granada in the second half at 1-1, but Memphis broke the spell in the Wanda Metropolitano. The Orange international shot from 30 meters into the intersection of keeper André Ferreira’s goal.
Memphis came in for Álvaro Morata in the second company, who had signed for the opening goal just before half-time. Samu made the 1-1 on behalf of Granada, but then it was Memphis’ turn. Deep in injury time, Marcos Llorente provided the final chord.
