Marko Arnautovic close to dream transfer: clubs are approaching an agreement of 10 million

Marko Arnautovic seems to be making the switch to Internazionale. The Austrian is now under contract with Bologna until mid-2025, which is in advanced negotiations with i Nerazzurri. According to transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio, the attacker costs around ten million euros. Of this, eight million is the fixed amount. The amount can increase further through bonuses.
It is expected that Arnautovic will earn two million euros a year with the Milanese. Half of this could be achieved through bonuses. Arnautovic has indicated that he wants to make the switch to last season’s Champions League finalist. Arnautovic was already rented out by FC Twente to Inter in the 2009/10 season. Although the then young attacker only made three appearances in the main squad, he was part of the legendary Inter team that won the treble under José Mourinho.

After his return to Twente in the summer of 2010, the Tukkers sold him to Werder Bremen for 6.2 million euros. Via Stoke City, West Ham United and the Chinese club Shanghai SIPG (nowadays Shanghai Port FC), he ended up at Bologna in 2021. There the former enfant terrible turned out to be an absolute added value. In 58 matches, he scored 25 hits and 2 assists. The transfer rumors surrounding Arnautovic have been playing for some time, to the dissatisfaction of Bologna coach and former Inter teammate Thiago Motta.
The coach would no longer want to line up Arnautovic in the new season, because of the player’s expressed wish to leave. The club was happy to continue with the 34-year-old attacker. However, if a good offer came in, the club would be willing to let him go. At Inter, Arnautovic would give trainer Simone Inzaghi extra options in the forefront after the departure of Romelu Lukaku and Edin Dzeko. With Marcus Thuram, Inter previously brought in a new attacking reinforcement.
