With the European Super Cup, Manchester City can put a new trophy in the trophy cabinet. The winner of the Champions League had a hard time with Sevilla, the winner of the Europa League, for 90 minutes. In the penalty shootout, Nemanja Gudelj missed the decisive 10th penalty.

More of the same game for the rest, until on the hour Rodri found Cole Palmer with a great flick at the far post. His header was nicely aimed past the grabbing Bono, and Sevilla were able to completely redo the game.
The equalizer gave City wings, which now started to play more intensely. Palmer gained confidence from his goal, cutting and kicking. Bono boxed, ducked, shivered and caught in the shooting gallery to his credit. At the front, his teammates piled up the chances, but the nets were not shaking on either side.
Rodri tried again with a bang, but no glory this time. The granite back of teammate Haaland was in the way. Aké also had a header chance, over via Bono’s fingertips.
