The Teguise City Council, and more specifically, the Councilor for Sports, Alejandro Ramírez, congratulates the athlete, Jorge Cano, a member of the Judo Club Costa Teguise in its national first division category, since he has managed to win the gold medal in the Zagreb Grand Prix (Croatia).
It is a worldwide competition, protected by the IJF (International Judo Federation), very prestigious, and which empowers its participants to add more points in the competitive ranking in order to participate in the Olympic Games.
Jorga Cano is 27 years old, is second Dan in karate and is currently part of the National Judo Team. The victory achieved in Croatia has a special meaning for this local athlete, since he had just recovered from a knee injury that forced him to undergo surgery.
