Ligue 2: Paris FC signs the first victory of its season against promoted Concarneau

The loser of the day risked completing the fourth day of Ligue 2 with the red lantern costume and Paris FC left this outfit in Concarneau. Before receiving the promoted Breton, the Parisians were dead last in the French second division, bruised by a record of three defeats in three games and a full infirmary. But the Ile-de-France residents took advantage of the arrival at the Aube stadium of another poorly ranked – the Thoniers were 18th – to start their season.

Lamine Diaby-Fadiga opened the scoring shortly before the break (42nd). It was then necessary to wait until the last quarter of an hour of play to see the PFC escape for good. Stéphane Gilli’s coaching paid off: Pierre-Yves Hamel scored twice (75th, 84th), just to heal the Parisian goal difference. Before the game, the 49-year-old coach stressed the importance of finally scoring this season. “Scoring this first goal will do us good psychologically,” he announced at a press conference.

His players had remained silent against Caen (2-0), Grenoble (2-0) and against Pau (2-0). Sofiane Alakouch, who played her first minutes with Paris FC, and her partners will have the opportunity to judge whether these first achievements are indeed synonymous with a click next Saturday during the trip to Angers.
