Ligue 1: still no victory for Lyon, who take the first point of their season in Nice

They had never really launched their 2022/2023 exercise and the start is even more difficult this season. After three days, the Lyonnais have still not won and their collective is far from being oiled. A week after the viral release of Laurent Blanc – “we must change the coach” – the questions are not likely to leave the cap of the President. OL and Nice shared the points after 90 minutes with few chances (0-0).

The Rhodaniens remain glued to 17th place before receiving Paris Saint-Germain next Sunday. The Azureans, them, end this third day of Ligue 1 in 13th place, with three points for as many draws.

Rayan Cherki has tried to awaken the Lyon game. He gave Amin Sarr the best chance of the first half on the half hour mark, but the Swedish number 9 stumbled on Marcin Bulka’s foot. The Niçois have still rather mastered the first act. They entered a strong moment shortly before the hour mark, however, they especially multiplied the crosses, without managing to worry Rémy Riou.

The pace quickly fell and no player was able to quicken the pulse of the game. From 35 meters, Dante tried to pierce the Lyon block with a shot from afar. The nets shook, but on the wrong side of Riou’s bar. One of the last thrills of a dull game. Not as intense as the one that had to go through the body of Nicolas Tagliafico, the moment a ball from Badredine Bouanani hit his arm after bouncing off his right knee.

It would have been cruel to whistle a penalty, when the Argentinian was almost on the ground at the time of contact, and referee Bastien Dechepy did not take this step.
