Jeff Petry Traded to Detroit: A Homecoming for the NHL Defender

After leaving Montreal to head to Pittsburgh in July 2022, Jeff Petry had recently been traded to the Canadian in the last few weeks.

Of course, everyone suspected that the defender was not going to wear the Habs uniform again and that it was only a matter of time before he was again involved in a trade.

Petry was finally traded to the Detroit Red Wings and that’s what he’s wanted for quite some time.

The rear is a native of Ann Arbor, a town in Washtenaw County, Michigan, which is 45 minutes from Detroit.

His father Dan Petry played a total of 11 seasons with the Detroit Tigers in Major League Baseball. It is therefore a homecoming for Jeff and he is extremely happy with the situation.

If the former Canadian has already made slightly dubious statements to his former head coach Dominique Ducharme, he has however just thrown flowers at Kent Hughes.

As reported by marker.com, this is what he mentioned:

“Kent asked me, without giving me a guarantee, where I would like to play. I appreciate that he did that, Detroit was at the top of my list.
To know that you will be able to play for your childhood team, to be able to put on this jersey… It’s a very special moment! »

A classy gesture from the DG of Montreal training.
