Xinhua News Agency, Chengdu, August 1 (Reporters Liu Tong and Wei Jingyu) The judo event of the Chengdu Universiade entered the final competition day on the 1st. The Japanese team won the men’s and women’s team championships.

In the women’s team final, the Japanese team showed their super strength and defeated the German women’s team 3:1 cleanly to win the championship. Brazil and South Korea won third place.

In the men’s team final, the Japanese team encountered stubborn resistance from the Uzbekistan team. The Uzbekistan team’s first player, Abdullahim in the 66kg class, defeated Japan’s Nakamura Taiki, giving the team a hope of winning the championship. But then the Japanese team’s three players, Ishihara Ki, Hojo Yoshito and Nakanishi Issei, defeated their opponents in the 73kg, 81kg and 90kg competitions respectively. The Japanese team won 3:1 and won the championship. Azerbaijan and South Korea finished third.

So far, all the judo competitions in the Chengdu Universiade have come to an end. In all the 16 gold medal competitions, the Japanese team won 11 gold medals, demonstrating their superiority in this project.
