[Participation qualifications, affiliated prefectures and player age criteria]
(1) Players must be residents of Japan and be 40 years of age or older as of April 1, 2023.
②Players must be registered with the Japan Basketball Association in 2023.
③ Athletes can choose either their current address or place of work as their prefecture of affiliation.
④Each prefectural basketball association shall recommend or select one male and one female national team either independently, through reinforcement or selection. In addition, prefectures that wish to participate in multiple teams can apply with a recommendation order (1st to 3rd place/recommendation order must be specified on the application form). However, the Japan Basketball Association will decide whether or not to participate after the 2nd place recommendation, and will notify the prefectural basketball association.
⑤Those who participate in the Special National Athletic Meet Basketball Competition (excluding prefectural qualifiers and block competitions) as players cannot participate in the Japan Sports Masters 2023 Basketball Competition as players.
