Jan Kuchta’s Goals Secure Sparta Praha’s Victory, but Pardubice Provides a Warning

Two hits came as expected. “It’s a relief, of course, because I was waiting for the goal and I’m glad it came at home. It’s very important for me to get comfortable before the double match with Copenhagen,” says Jan Kuchta.

Letenští were already leading 5-0 and it seemed that they would tune in to Copenhagen in an ideal way. But then they had Pardubice corrected twice.

“It’s a warning. We wanted to play until the end and this might not pay off for us both against Copenhagen and in other matches in the league and the cup. We have to play until the end, be selfless and responsible,” Kuchta realizes.

“This time we slacked off and unnecessarily let Pardubice finish the game relatively calmly. We had some other chances there and could have scored even more goals. Our cashed in was very unnecessary.”

When he opened the scoring, he crowned the collaboration with his new partner Birmančević.

“It was the first match where we scored points. Cooperation could be even better than before. He is a fantastic player, he sees the football and he crossed it beautifully for me. It came out beautifully from behind, where Láďa Krejčí played it and Birma threw the ball at me right from the first touch. I hit it beautifully,” smiles Kuchta.

Coach Brian Priske can also be satisfied.

“We need Kuchta to score goals. We know how much and in what ways it is important to us. For him too, converted opportunities are something that gives him confidence. However, as is usually the case with him, even this time he dutifully fulfilled his defensive duties, played an important role in the press and also added two goals. I am satisfied with his performance,” says the Danish coach.

Tomáš Wiesner also experienced an extraordinary day. Before the match, he took over the jersey with the number 100 from the manager Tomáš Sivok as a reminder of the jubilee league start. And then he celebrated him with a goal and an assist.

“The hundred is beautiful, a great experience for me. I probably won’t forget the match,” Wiesner muses.

He is exceptionally successful against Pardubice, scoring a goal for them for the fourth season in a row. Also thanks to this, he rounded the league record to 100 starts, 10 goals and 10 assists…
