Ja Morant’s Father Takes Responsibility for His Son’s Troubles: ‘It’s his own decisions’

There is no other person responsible for the situation that Ja Morant is currently experiencing more than himself, said his father Tee.

“My son did not get into trouble because of the people around him, but because of his own decisions,” he said in a chat with the participants of the Up Next Elite Camp in New Orleans. “So always keep in mind all the decisions you make because they can take over you, consume you and make you believe that you are someone that you are not,” he added.

Without a doubt, the Memphis Grizzlies guard has not had good judgment in the last year. When the 2023-2024 season begins, he will be away from the track due to a 25-game suspension after displaying himself with a weapon in an Instagram live. He before him received eight other penalty commitments for showing up with a gun at a nightclub in Colorado. And these have not been the only incidents, he also went on trial for assaulting a young man who accused him of hitting him in the face during a game at his house.

“Always keep in mind that you are being watched and everything is magnified. The smallest thing you do can make a big difference in your life,” Tee concluded.

Morant will be eligible to return with the team in December, but failure to meet a series of requirements not specified by the NBA could delay his return.
