Another victory in walk-off (8-1) and by demonstration in the fifth inning against Israel allows Italy to close group F unbeaten. Now head and heart in the first match of the Super Round, scheduled for 5 pm against the Czech Republic, first classified in group E

In view of the more delicate and important match of the Super Round, scheduled for 5 pm on the main field of the Svoboda complex, Prague, Andrea Longagnani chooses to use a turn-over but theItalia absolutely does not underestimate the commitment with Israel: the objective was to finish group F without defeats, and the Azzurrine managed to get the better of 8-1 in the fifth inning again with a walk-off, made this time by Catherine Binetti.

Unlike the games played so far, this time it was the opposing team who scored first, in the first attack, even with a home run hit past the center-left fielder from the leadoff Julia Sherman against the pitcher Livia BernardiWhile Samantha Sherman continues to instill fear in Italy with a valid on a low line to the left. It is all that Italy grants to the opposing team. The line of Siona Halwani ends up in the third baseman’s glove Catherine Binetti who immediately shoots first for the double game, while a low and central serve of Argov she is captured by Bernardi for assisting in first grade.

However, the cliché that wants Italy to score at least three runs in the first inning does not change: fatal to Israel was an error by the catcher who, on a third strike – passed ball against the leadoff, Moggi wrongly measured the shot to first with the ball even loses in the outside right, favoring the arrival at home of Moggi. With two outs and Felicia DiPancrazio in first on single extension are the bars of Lucrezia Moretti (double with ball bouncing in front of shortstop catching it in backtime) e Clare DiLauro (sprint that escapes from the left winger’s glove) to make Italy fly towards the advantage.

While Bernardi settles down with a second inning of three strikeouts and a third inning in which she is helped by a nice catch of Delia Way in the shortstop, Italy extends with four points in the third attack that began with the arrival at home of Felicia DiPancrazio on a sprint into the center that the center fielder reads badly, allowing Di Pancrazio to sit in third with a triple. Pushing her home is Manner thanks to a single to the left. Then a sacrifice bunt of Di Lauror, the valid ones of Silvoni (on the opposite side), Albert’s (deep double left on first throw) and above Binetti (long triple center) mean momentary 7-1.

Bernardi is also untouchable in the fourth and fifth innings, after just over fifty pitches, is detected by Clare DiLauro which closes by putting strikeout Villach, Kushner e Petrov for an inning without getting on base. At the change of pitch, Italy’s “killer instinct” comes out again: against Talia Abrahamjust entered for the departing Siona HalwaniItaly does not make discounts and immediately fills the bases with a hit (Moretti), a double of DiLauro and a base ball allowed to Silvoni. After a home out on a short run by Albertin, it is Binettiwith the validity of walk-off (a rebounder to the left) to complete a game that saw her protagonist of a 2-2 with 2 runs batted in at home and with good defensive plays.
