Italy’s National Basketball Team Wins Overtime Thriller in Trentino Basketball Cup

The Trentino Basketball Cup has now become the traditional closure of the Trentino retreat of the Italian national basketball team in Folgaria.

At the BLM Group Arena the Azzurri beat Turkey in overtime 90-89.

First quarter started with the Italian domination, but the Turks manage to take back the reins of the match and the first set ends on 25-24. The second quarter sees the Azzurri get back on track to go into the long halftime with an 11-point lead, 49-38.

The return to the field is complicated for Pozzecco’s men who still manage to close the partial third still leading 61 to 56. Last quarter fluctuating, so as to push the game to overtime.

Now the Azzurri will play the final, at 8.30 pm on Sunday 6 August, against China.
