Bad news for Italy in the afternoon session of the second day of the Archery World Championships 2023currently underway in Berlin. On the Maifeld lawn, inside the Olympiapark, the preliminary rounds (up to the semifinals) of the men’s and women’s team events were held for the division compound.
Both blue trios were unfortunately eliminated, missing the appointment with the world medals (previously Team Mixed had also gone out in the quarterfinals). Marco Bruno, Elia Fregnan and Federico Pagnoni they stopped in the quarterfinals losing 230-236 against South Korea after beating Canada (29-26 in the shoot-off) and Austria (236-232).
Out of the game too Elisa Roner, Marcella Tonioli and Andrea Nicole Moccia, mocked by Colombia by a single point (229-230) in the round of 16 after easily defeating Iceland 222-190 in the preliminary round. The finals for the title will be Poland-Denmark for men and Mexico-India for women, while the challenges for the bronze medal will be South Korea-Netherlands and Colombia-South Korea respectively.
