Italian Judo Cadet Team Gears Up for the 2023 World Championships in Zagreb

After obtaining three medals at the European Championships in Portugal, the Italian national judo cadet team is preparing to face the 2023 World Championships in Zagreb from Wednesday 23 to Sunday 27 August. Over 570 athletes from 64 different countries are enrolled in the world championship competition reserved for judokas born between 1 January 2006 and 31 December 2008.

Lucius Tabletnumber 1 in the cadet world ranking and reigning continental champion in the 73 kg, is probably the spearhead of the Italian expedition together with Christian Minciniseeded No. 2 in the 90 kg category after silver at the Under 18 European Championships. In all, twenty Azzurrini players will be competing in the Croatian capital for the most important event of the season for this age group.

In addition to the two names mentioned above, they have also been summoned to the masculine Francesco Crociani (50 kg), Thomas Sassi (50 kg), Raffaele Sodano (55 kg), Emiliano Lattanzi (55 kg), Antonio Esposito (60 kg), Alessandro D’Urbano (81 kg), Luigi Barbero (90 kg) and Emiliano Rossi (+90 kg). In the women’s sector we will see at work instead Miriam Tempesta (40 kg), Rachele Moruzzi (44 kg), Alice Bersellini (48 kg), Elena Storione (48 kg), India Serafini (52 kg), Sara Cardella (57 kg), Martina Capezzuto (57 kg), Maila Pagliaro (63 kg), Aurora Mengia (70 kg), Lucia Magli (+70 kg).
