Perginese’s next appointment will be in Zagreb for a race on the world circuit leading up to the Paris 2024 Olympic race

The medal for university Italy has arrived in the «JianYian cultural and sport center Gymnasium» in Chengdu in China, on Sunday 30 July, and it is the bronze medal that rewarded the beautiful race by Irene Pedrotti for third place in the 70 kg at the World University Games, (FISU World University Games) originally called the Universiade.
The only civilian Italian in Judo, she gave Italy the first and only medal of the three days of competition.
With the ippon (point of victory) to the Mongolian Sarantsetseg Lkhgvadulam, Irene Pedrotti’s journey in the 70 kg began who, in the following round, found the red puck and it was the German Samira Bock who imposed it on her with ippon in the golden score (following time to the four minutes of the match, because they were tied on points).
Recovered, Pedrotti prevailed by ippon on the American Isabella Alexandra Garriga, thus accessing the final for third place. Irene Pedrotti then conquered the bronze medal overcoming the French Clemence Andrea Eme by hansokumake (sanctions).

«We could say that today went well – said coach Gianni Maman in agreement with Massimo Parlati – because Irene took a beautiful bronze medal, we could even have taken something more with Irene because in the quarterfinals they were really scandalous with the referee, he deserved to win big.”
Congratulations to this young girl and great athlete who is always on the rise who gave Italy the only Judo medal.
Two bronze medals in one month, the first at the European Team Games in Krakow, Poland on 1 July 2023 and this in China is the second.
The next appointment for her will be in Zagreb (Croatia) for a Grand Prix from 18 to 20 August, a race on the world circuit to buy points for the Paris 2024 Olympic race.
