The Indian Ocean Island Games will be held in Madagascar from August 23 to September 3, 2023. For the first time, Reunion will have two flag bearers.
Alizée Morel and Mathéo Gilbert-Galard will carry the Reunionese flag during the opening ceremony of the Games of the Islands. The two athletes will pave the way for the 452 pei athletes.
Swimmer Alizée Morel has already won 18 medals during her 3 participations in the Games of the Islands. Mathéo Gilbert-Galard, a 19-year-old Dionysian, is a jack-of-all-trades. He is a brown judo belt, has practiced Basque pelota and handball.
The opening ceremony of the Islands games will be held on August 25th.
