The judo team Holten ends its third Bundesliga season with an 11:3 win against Gelsenkirchen as second division champions, a promotion to the 1st division as table leader does not seem to be possible anymore, even if Mönchengladbach still has to fight against Hanover in mid-September.

The Holteners met Gelsenkirchen, who were badly decimated by the Senior European Cup in Portugal, and who showed no significant resistance in the first round. The first half of the season went 7-0 to the judo team Holten.
“It wasn’t the team of the season. The Gelsenkircheners were missing three of their Dutch fighters, who are competing internationally in Portugal this weekend. If they had been there today, it would probably have been closer, around 7:7, 7:6 or maybe 9:5,” said JTH coach Ralf Najdowski.

In the second half of the season, Gelsenkirchen’s Holten defeated three points, but in the end it was 11:3 and the championship title in the second division for the judo team Holten from Oberhausen.
