FC Getafe is unimpressed by the harsh criticism from Barcelona coach Xavi. After the 0-0 draw on Sunday, the Catalans’ coach complained about the referee’s decisions and the home side’s style of play.
“Last year it was the sun and the grass. Now it’s the referee. You always have an excuse,” said Getafe keeper David Soria Cadena COPE.
“They can’t come to us and then we just let them play how they want. We can’t keep up in terms of play, but we have different qualities,” he added.
Already last season, Barça had not gotten more than 0-0 at Getafe.
After Sunday’s game, coach Xavi described a handball by Gavi that prevented the Catalans from taking a penalty as an ‘invention’. “I understand why people don’t want to see LaLiga,” he added angrily.
