German Matchup: Alexander Zverev Faces Daniel Altmaier in Second Round of US Open

A compatriot is waiting for Germany’s number one Alexander Zverev in the second round of the US Open. With Daniel Altmaier, the Olympic champion meets the last remaining German men in the tournament.

On Court 17, the two Germans start the day at 5:00 p.m. in Flushing Meadows.

Also in action on Thursday is Carlos Alcaraz, who will face Lloyd Harris at the start of the night session. However, the three-time Grand Slam champion Andy Murray and Grigor Dimitrov will start in the Arthur Ashe Stadium.

Among the women, the second in the world rankings, Aryna Sabalenka, serves. The Belarusian meets Jodie Burrage (Great Britain). Daniil Medvedev faces Christopher O’Connell (Australia). From a German point of view, Tamara Korpatsch also plays against Liudmila Samsonova.

Betting Tips:

Andy Murray (GBR) – Grigor Dimitrov (BUL) [19]

Vintage duel on Arthur Ashe – Murray has worked his way up to 37th in the world rankings with 28 wins this season, Dimitrov (19th) has the same number. In direct duels, the Scot has a clear 8:3 lead and also looked much more relaxed in round one than the Bulgarian, who had to go the full distance against Alex Molcan. Betting tip: Andy Murray.

Daria Kasatkina [13] -Sofia Kenin (USA)

Ex-Australian Open winner Kenin caused a stir at Wimbledon when she defeated Coco Gauff in round one. Kasatkina struggled a bit with Alycia Parks in round one in New York. In direct duels, the American leads 2-1. Betting tip: Sofia Kenin.

Gael Monfils (FRA) – Andrey Rublev [8]

Monfils is still good for highlights in the autumn of his career – he recently proved that with victories over Stefanos Tsitsipas in Toronto and Alex de Minaur in Cincinnati. Rublev, on the other hand, didn’t get along at all in the two Masters and lost his opening game in each. However, the Russian is favored over three winning sets (direct duels: 1:1). Betting tip: Andrey Rublev.
