French Archers Settle for Silver Medal in World Archery Championships Final

They came very close to putting it right on target. But the trio of Riomoises from the France team failed to beat Germany in the final of the World Archery Championships this Friday in Berlin. Lisa Barbelin, Caroline Lopez and Audrey Adiceom therefore had to settle for the silver medal in the recurve team event, as in June during the European Games. A good omen one year from the Paris Games.

The three archers from Auvergne fought a very good battle while the Germans played at home. Tied in the first set (53-53), the locals took the lead in the second act (55-52). Impaccable in the third set (50-58), with two 10s for Barbelin and Lopez, the Bleues finally gave in in the fourth set (57-56).

Archery: Riomoise Lopez, Adiceom and Barbelin qualified for the semi-finals of the Worlds in recurve team

In the semi-final, the French had beaten the Netherlands.
