Feyenoord played a 0-0 draw against Fortuna Sittard on Sunday afternoon. The team from Rotterdam came to play with ten men in the first half due to a red card from Bart Nieuwkoop. Still, analyst Rafael van der Vaart is not pleased with Feyenoord and does not think that Fortuna played ‘anxious’ in De Kuip.

“I think they played against the champion, and you all say that Feyenoord is currently the best club in the Netherlands,” Van der Vaart tells his table mates at Studio Football. “I’ve been watching and then I think to myself: well, yes…”

Van der Vaart was very impressed by former SC Heerenveen midfielder Alen Halilovic from Fortuna Sittard. “I have contact with him and I think he is currently one of the top players in the Eredivisie. At times it came out against Feyenoord, and that will become apparent this season.”

“A lot of people say: there’s a left leg again. I played against him when he was at Sporting Gijon, thirty kilos ago. This player just has qualities and is a really great player. Fortuna did that very smartly. I I enjoyed Fortuna, they played 0-0 against Feyenoord, the champions, who are happy with a draw,” said Van der Vaart.
