The girl’s name is Max and both mother and child are doing well, says Imke Courtois in a short article in De Zondag. “She is already a great daughter, that’s for sure. Deep love.”

Earlier this year, Courtois announced that she had consciously chosen to become a single mother. “In a few months there will be a small, big responsibility here,” Courtois said in February. “I’m going to be a single mom and I’m really looking forward to it. I knew from an early age that I wanted to be a mom someday, but I handled it very thoughtfully. I first wanted to write my football story, build up some financial security and find enough peace in myself to allow more structure in my life.”

Courtois is currently active as a football presenter and analyst for Sporza. Between 2005 and 2017, she played for the Belgian national team, the Red Flames. In 2017, she concluded her career in field football at Standard Liège.
