Former Arsenal star Theo Walcott chooses to retire this season

Theo Walcott trained with Reading this summer but then retired rather than sign a contract with the club.

Former Arsenal star Theo Walcott has chosen not to continue his football adventure this season, aka retiring. The former England international is hanging up his boots at the age of 34.

Walcott, who played for Southampton in the Premier League last season, sees no chance of him playing again in the 2022/23 season.

Walcott scored a total of 80 goals in 397 appearances in the Premier League for all the English teams he strengthened during this period.

While during pre-season he joined Reading to take part in training sessions, Walcott decided not to sign a contract with the League One club.

Walcott was determined to hang up his boots and is now contemplating other interests in pursuing his post-professional life as a footballer.

Walcott’s highest achievement in English football is winning the FA Cup in the 2014/15 and 2016/17 seasons with Arsenal.
