The general manager of the US women’s soccer team, Kate Markgraf, has resigned after the elimination of the World Cup against Sweden in the round of 16 and the departure of coach Vlatko Andonovski. This was announced by the American Football Federation Ussf.
“It has been an incredible honor to work with the players, coaches and staff to keep us at the pinnacle of women’s football,” Markgraf, 46, said in a statement released by the USSF.
As a soccer player, Markgraf played 201 times for the American selection from 1998 to 2010, managing with her teammates to win the 1999 World Cup and the Olympic Games in 2004 and 2008.
