Football Regional League Northeast: FC Carl Zeiss Jena: The bagged from the lovely Saale beach

Go down with dignity without drowning is the motto for FC Carl Zeiss Jena in the still young season of the Regionalliga Nordost. My beloved small change kings from paradise very quickly issued the motto for this season: play along somehow, don’t get relegated and let the football goddess be a pious woman. In this style, two points were scored more or less listlessly in the first five games, which consequently expedited the FCC to 15th place. Meanwhile, the Vieselbacher FC Rot Weiß greets us from above – it can’t get any worse for us battered people from the lovely Saale beach.

To put it smartly and strictly: I don’t blame either the coach or the young team. René Klingbeil has to deal with the players that are made available to him. And he is not supported by any sports director. And I don’t have to explain to you which player comes to a club without money.

Last season, Carl Zeiss came second in the Regionalliga Nordost and won the Thuringia Cup for the fourth time in a row. That came as quite a surprise, as Jena had separated from all supposed legionnaires and big earners at the beginning of the last season in order to start a new start with their own offspring and brought in young people, which should eventually flush a well-established Jena team into the 3rd division. Sounds good, but the experts among us know: If a young bird of paradise appears somewhere in the 4th league and unfolds its wings, it is immediately eaten by greedy birds of prey and kidnapped by beings in the 4th league.

Homegrown Vasilios Dedidis now plays in Weinrot and is questioning the realignment with his move to BFC Dynamo. Ultras and environment along with some football whisperers carry the focus on their own offspring and hope for better times. Because the coffers are empty at FC Carl Zeiss. The Goldmarie avoids football in Jena, even though the new stadium will open soon and can accommodate 15,000 spectators. Much too big for the regional league, against Lok Leipzig 5000 fans came to the Ernst-Abbe-Sportfeld.

Does anyone in the club, or at the decisive FC Carl Zeiss Jena Fußball Spielbetriebs GmbH or at the stadium operator self5, have a real plan for a glorious future? It’s a little hard to believe, the tight-lipped statements of the protagonists miss blooming football landscapes on the Thuringian horizon. The president routinely rattles off the no-coal tale and brings tears of laughter to our lovestruck blue-whites. A stadium for many millions, a team for three euros twenty.

Fans for Live touches all of this only marginally. Forged together by the everlasting ring of love, they feed on the past. If a pawn sacrifice is demanded in the coming weeks to do justice to the just anger of the paying spectators, we say neither oops nor goodbye, for example to coach Klingbeil, whom the club again promised to trust on Tuesday. We stand on the edge, sing our songs, wave our flags. Even though the songline is currently: Do you remember, in the spring of 1981 and we currently only fall into raptures when we happen to meet people like Lothar football god Kurbjuweit in the Sportforum Hohenschönhausen (on the wrong side).
