Berlin (AP) – The Valorant scene is looking for new world champions: the top favorite at the World Cup in Los Angeles is Fnatic. The strongest competition comes from Brazil, South Korea and the USA.
Looking ahead to the Valorant year, there’s little doubt about the British esports organization’s role as favorites at the World Cup, which begins on August 6th. After victories at Lock//In São Paulo and Masters Tokyo, the team can complete the title triple.
However, 15 Fnatic teams are trying to spoil the World Cup party, including reigning world champion Loud from Brazil, Masters finalist Evil Genuises from the USA and Paper Rex from South Korea.
Fnatic also has competition from Europe. With Team Liquid, FUT Esports, Navi and Giants, four teams from the EMEA region are participating in the World Cup. “It feels unreal,” said Giants captain Emir “rhyme” Muminovic in an interview with the German Press Agency. “We’re going to LA and maybe playing The Forum.”
“The Forum”, the former arena of the NBA team Los Angeles Lakers, is a location of the Valorant World Cup in Los Angeles. Among other things, the final will take place here on August 26th.
