+++ Tuchel expects Neuer “in two or three weeks” in team training +++

Bayern coach Thomas Tuchel has specified his forecast for a comeback by national goalkeeper Manuel Neuer. He hopes that Neuer “can start team training in two or three weeks. And then it’ll be quick anyway,” said Tuchel on the streaming service DAZN after Munich’s 4-0 win at Werder Bremen in the Bundesliga opening game on Friday evening.

The 37-year-old Neuer suffered a broken leg after the World Cup in December last year. The Bayern keeper completed an individual training session with goalkeeper-specific exercises on the lawn on Säbener Strasse on Friday morning. About two weeks ago, Neuer successfully had a planned metal removal on his right fibula. After the plate was removed, the reaction was “very positive,” said Tuchel.

Bayern boss Jan-Christian Dressen also expressed confidence. “We are happy that Manuel Neuer is on a much faster path than we might have thought a few weeks ago. That’s the good thing about it,” he said.

+++ “We bought very well”: Effenberg expects a multi-fight for the championship +++

Former Bayern captain Stefan Effenberg (55) expects a multi-fight for the championship in the upcoming Bundesliga season. With a view to RB Leipzig’s 3-0 win over FC Bayern a week ago in the DFL Supercup, the former national soccer player said to the news portal t-online: “It was a sign for the Bundesliga. I expect a close championship fight in which Dortmund, Leipzig and Leverkusen will be the Bayern hunters.”

All of Bayern’s competitors “have bought and increased very well, although perhaps not quite with the radiance of a 100 million transfer from Harry Kane,” said Effenberg before the opening game between Werder Bremen and FC Bayern on Friday (8:30 p.m.). “They will put a lot of pressure on Bayern right from the start.”

Among other things, BVB has signed Felix Nmecha (Wolfsburg) and Marcel Sabitzer (FC Bayern) for millions of euros, as well as Leipzig striker Loïs Openda (RC Lens). FC Bayern has spent more than 100 million euros for the captain of the English national team Kane – more than any Bundesliga club before.

+++ Sponsor jumps off: Siemens is no longer a Bayern partner +++

Siemens is no longer a sponsor of FC Bayern Munich. The collaboration between the group and the record German soccer champions ended at the end of June this year. First, the “WirtschaftsWoche” reported about it. “Since the beginning of the partnership in 2017, Siemens has repositioned itself and readjusted the corporate strategy – this also affects our sponsoring activities,” said a statement on Friday. “In the future, we will focus our partnerships even more on new products, our digital portfolio and sustainable technologies in order to best support our corporate strategy.”

+++ After the start of the Bundesliga: FC Bayern challenged again on Saturday +++

A stressful weekend is coming up for FC Bayern. The team is traveling to Bremen for the Bundesliga opener this Friday. The next game is just one day later – in Kaltern on the Wine Route in South Tyrol. There finds at 3 p.m. the “dream game” against the “Weinbeisser Kaltern” fan club will take place.

In order to save the team from travel stress, the flight to Bremen was moved to Friday instead of flying the day before the game as usual. That means: After the Bundesliga opener in the Weser Stadium, the team is not going straight back to Munich, but to the team hotel “Atlantic Grand”. Saturday morning we head towards South Tyrol. The team should then be rewarded with two days off for this. The next Bundesliga game against FC Augsburg is not until next Sunday.

+++ FC Bayern opens Bundesliga season – with Harry Kane +++

As the German champions, FC Bayern will open the 61st season of the Bundesliga this evening (8.30 p.m.) with an away game at SV Werder Bremen. A week after the sobering 0:3 in the Supercup against DFB Cup winners RB Leipzig, coach Thomas Tuchel and his team want to experience a better start in the league. “Our goals are very clear. We’re playing for the title, we want to be champions,” said Tuchel before the start of his first full season as Bayern coach.

Harry Kane will of course be the focus of attention in the Bremen stadium. After his brief stint in the Supercup, the new signing from England, who cost over 100 million euros, is set to start from Tottenham Hotspur for the first time. Bayern fans are hoping for the English national team captain’s first goals.

+++ One change wasn’t enough: Kane with a new outfitter +++

For months, the saga of Harry Kane’s transfer to FC Bayern dragged on. But for the English striker, saying goodbye to his long-standing club Tottenham Hotspur was probably not change enough. The 30-year-old, who has long been sponsored by sporting goods manufacturer Nike, has now also landed a new kit deal.

On Thursday, US brand Skechers and Harry Kane announced a “long-term partnership.” Although Skechers is one of the world’s largest shoe manufacturers, it has not previously been in the football business. The blue kicks with green accents that Harry Kane presented on Thursday are the model that the US group is releasing.

“I’m making a significant step right now. Ever since I met the development team and saw the shoes for the first time, I was convinced that Skechers had created something special. You (those responsible for Skechers, ed.) presented me with their vision of gaining a foothold in football. They blew my mind, the shoes blew my mind,” said a noticeably delighted Harry Kane.

+++ Tuchel: Development at Neuer “extremely positive” +++

Good news from Manuel Neuer! The Bayern captain recovered well from the surgery on his shin and is making great progress towards his return to team training, according to Thomas Tuchel. On Thursday, the Bayern coach even made a forecast in this regard for the first time.

“We have positive news because Manu’s intervention worked. The prognosis for returning to team training has shortened significantly. His development is extremely positive,” said Tuchel: “I’ve seen him train in the past two days and what I saw was very impressive, so we expect to get back into team training in the next few weeks.”

Also because of the good development at Neuer, the goalkeeping question was changed. The focus is no longer on a new number one, but on a backup for substitute keeper Sven Ulreich, who is to represent Neuer between the posts until he returns.

+++ Müller and Choupo back against Werder – trio around Gnabry questionable +++

Bayern can fall back on Thomas Müller and Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting against Werder Bremen. Thomas Tuchel announced this on Thursday. “Thomas Müller and Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting can both be in the squad, but we still have to wait for the last session today,” said the Bayern coach. Müller recently struggled with hip problems, Choupo-Moting was out with a knee injury. Both therefore missed the complete preparation.

There is still a question mark behind Serge Gnabry, Noussair Mazraoui and Bouna Sarr. “They are still a bit questionable, we have to wait and see,” said Tuchel.

+++ Kane wants to “score goals directly” against Werder +++

Bayern’s new top striker Harry Kane wants to do what he was brought in for in the Bundesliga opening game this Friday (8.30 p.m., Sat.1 and DAZN and in the AZ live ticker) at Werder Bremen. “Of course I want to score goals in my first game,” said the England captain in a Sky interview. “But success as a team has always been paramount in my career. Hopefully I can help with goals so that we can win the game in Bremen.”

In his first appearance last Saturday in the Supercup game against RB Leipzig (0: 3), Kane remained without a hit. “We’re ready to fight back. As a professional, you want to make up for a defeat like this in your own stadium in the next game. I’m looking forward to the Bundesliga opener,” said the 30-year-old, who Bayern just a few days ago paid for the record sum of signed over 100 million euros from Tottenham Hotspur.
