FA Plans to Align Transfer Window of Saudi Arabian League with European Leagues

Currently, the transfer window of the Saudi Arabian league closes on September 7 – almost a week later than the closing of such a window in major European leagues (September 1).

The Football Association (FA) of England is preparing to submit a formal request to FIFA to bring the Saudi Arabian League’s transfer window in line with the schedule of Europe’s top leagues.

Jurgen Klopp (Liverpool) and Pep Guardiola (Manchester City) have most actively emphasized the problem of attracting stars from the head coaches of Premier League clubs. Two of Liverpool’s most experienced midfielders – Jordan Henderson and Brazilian Fabinho – went to the Arabian Peninsula for profit this summer.

The current transfer window will not be changed, however, as the parties have agreed that it is too late to make changes to the current schedule. The FA could request changes that would apply to the next player transfer window.

The clubs of the Saudi Arabian League have spent a total of 404.68 million euros on player acquisitions this summer, which is the fifth highest figure among all world leagues.
