Exciting Lineup and New Course Announced for Saulieu International Eventing Competition in Burgundy

See you in Burgundy, in the heart of the Morvan, from August 24 to 27! Building on the success of previous years, the Saulieu international eventing competition is full this year!

222 entries including some of the best tricolor riders with the presence of:

Cédric Lyard, Olympic team champion at the Athens 2004 Games, Mathieu Lemoine, Olympic team champion at the Rio 2016 Games, Christopher Six, team bronze medalist at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, Maxime Livio, team bronze medalist at the Tryon Worlds in 2018, 1st in the 2023 Jardy Nations Cup Luc Chateau, 11th in the 2023 Badminton CCI5*, Benjamin Massié, who has just returned from the European Pine Championships or Sébastien Cavaillon, 11th in the CCI5* de Burghley, Camille Lejeune, member of the French team which won the Jardy Nations Cup last July, etc.

In total, 13 nations will be present including Switzerland with Olympic rider Mélody Johner, also back from the European Championships with a fine 21st place. A strong Indian delegation will also be present in Saulieu, in order to prepare for the Asian Games which will take place in a month. Italy, Germany, Ireland, Thailand, or United States will be at the start of this international eventing competition.

Something new awaits riders this year!

The course designer Didier Dhennin (Ecuyer du Cadre Noir, 6th at the Beijing Olympic Games) has some surprises in store for the competitors with a new cross-country course.

The last obstacle of the cross in the colors of “Côte d’Or Terre de Jeux”

Next year, the Olympic flame will pass through the Côte d’Or, and more specifically through Saulieu on July 12, 2024. In order to celebrate and promote this passage, the last obstacle of the cross will be in the colors of “Côte d’Or Land of Games”.
