The group stage of Italy in wheelchair basketball at the European Championships in Rotterdam ended with an overwhelming victory, 83-30 against Austria. The Azzurri thus obtain their third victory of the event which is worth third place in the group behind Turkey and Great Britain and the passage of the round to the quarter-finals, scheduled for tomorrow.
Italy thus closes group B in the best possible way and is now waiting for the official announcement (and the timetable) of tomorrow’s quarter-final match, which will probably be a re-edition of the match against Spain at the last European Championship. “He’s certainly not the easiest opponent for us, in terms of pairings – says coach Di Giusto -. The regret of this group are the last 5 minutes against Turkey, which would have opened up a certainly different scenario for us; now we start slightly underdogs , but we were also two years ago in Madrid”.
