ESPN Announces Hiring of Doc Rivers and Bob Myers for 2023-2024 Season

the television network ESPN has made official the hiring of Doc Rivers and Bob Myers as of the 2023-2024 season.

Rivers, who last year served as the head coach of the Philadelphia 76ers, will join Doris Burke and Mike Breen at the broadcast table as a game commentator, while former general manager of the Golden State Warriors will be part of the program NBA Countdown and will also be an analyst of the meetings during the weekends.

The 61-year-old strategist will bring his vision as a player of 14 seasons and another 24 as a coach with a ring obtained in 2008. And he has also had experience as a broadcaster in his stages with the Orlando Magic and the Boston Celtics, he even participated in the Transmission of ABC for the 2004 Finals. The media reported that the contract with the Chicago native is multi-year.

For his part, the case of Myers is particular because he will venture into television for the first time after directing the Warriors for 11 years. As president of operations and general manager of the franchise he won four titles, however, after 2022-2023 he assured that it was time to end that stage.
