Emma Raducanu is back on the court

After extremely difficult months, Emma Raducanu can now look to the future a little more positively: As the 20-year-old announced on social media, she returned to the training ground on Wednesday after an injury break of several months. In May, the Brit underwent operations on both wrists and ankles.

When exactly Raducanu will return to the match court is currently uncertain. However, the comeback still seems a little far away, apparently only training with soft balls on Wednesday. These are normally used for training with children.

A start at the US Open (August 28 to September 10) should therefore be unrealistic. The Briton cannot be found on the entry list of the last Grand Slam tournament of the year, but as a former winner of the event, Raducanu would probably receive a wildcard if necessary.

Most recently, in an interview with the London newspaper The Times, Raducanu emphasized that she sometimes wanted to undo her triumph at the US Open 2021 as an 18-year-old qualifier. The 20-year-old is currently 133rd in the world rankings.
