Edy Tavares Contemplates NBA Dream as Contract Expires

A few weeks before the start of the World Cup and with the start of the next season on the horizon, Edy Tavares still has hope of being able to fulfill his NBA dream. The pivot, whose contract will end in one year, has not yet made the decision to renew or not with the white club, a subject on which he has spoken in statements collected by Relevo.

“I don’t know if I’m going to renew with Madrid. The truth is that I have a one-year contract, and I don’t know what to tell you. Yes, I hope we agree, but the dream of the NBA is there too. I will not deny it. It’s all up in the air, but I’m not worried. I am concentrating on the World Cup with my team and then I will try to enjoy every second with my club until the last game. If I stay, fine, but if I don’t, nothing happens. I have said many times that the NBA is in mind, but you have to analyze everything,” the Cape Verdean giant told Relevo.

Tavares will play the World Cup with Cape Verde, a team that has been drawn in Group F. With their matches scheduled at the Okinawa Arena, the African team will face Venezuela, Georgia and Slovenia.
