The intense rains that hit the Pacific coast in recent days also took their toll on one of the most iconic venues in Major League Baseball (MLB) as Dodger Stadium, home of the Los Angeles Dodgers, was the victim of flooding caused by Hurricane Hillary.

What happened at Dodger Stadium?

On a helicopter tour over the city of Los Angeles, specifically on the Chávez Ravine hills, a video that went viral on social media shows how the stadium ground is completely flooded, specifically in the parking areas.

Due to the correct forecasts of the authorities, the Dodgers played a double header against the Marlins during the day on Saturday, two games that the Angelenos won 3-1. Without activity this Sunday, the rain made itself felt disproportionately in the home of the Major League champions in the 2020 World Series.

Fortuitously, the Dodgers will leave California over the next week for a six-game tour of Cleveland and Boston, playing three-game series against the Guardians and Red Sox, respectively. They will return to Dodger Stadium to host the Arizona Diamondbacks next Monday, August 28, the date by which they expect Hurricane Hilary to be over.

Hurricane Hilary modifies MLB calendar

The Dodgers were only one of three teams on the Pacific Coast that had to rearrange their game schedules because of the hurricane; The San Diego Padres and Los Angeles Angels also hosted a doubleheader against their respective rivals on Saturday.

Padres and Angels, as well as the Oakland Athletics, another team based in the state of California that is the main one affected by the intense rainfall, will return to home activity this Monday, hoping that their games will not have to be rescheduled.
